January 3, 1793
Nantucket, Massachusetts.
The birth of Lucretia Mott. Never knew she'd be destined to lead alongside Elizabeth Cady Stanton in the fight for women's full equality. Beginning in 1848, this partnership changed the way women were viewed by people with the creation of the Seneca Falls Convention-the first public women's rights meeting. Stanton believed that it was "the duty of the women of this country to secure to themselves the sacred right to the elective franchise." Though Mott disagreed, it was passed because she still fundamentally believed in women's rights. This Convention, along with Mott and Stanton, helped to ignite a flame within every woman in the United States to fight for equal opportunity.
